chewing the fat...

I must be the only person in the world who starts a weight loss program that includes going to the gym twice a week and loses no weight. No I mean it I have lost nothing not one pound, not and inch, nothing. I go to the gym faithfully. I do cardio as well as weight training every other time. I walk on my off days not as religiously as I would like but far more than I have in the past. I try to watch what I eat and I don't eat junk after 7:30 and still my weight won't budge not an inch. I must have no metabolism at all. So here I am upping the anti again. I will now go to the gym on Saturdays as well making it three nights a week at the gym. I am also going to start on protein shakes for mid day snack as well as portion control and fat counting. I will also try walking 5 out of the 7 days in the week. Why am I telling you all this? Because I want held accountable for my actions. Because I am weak and I am sure to fail without support. So I am writing this in the hopes that you will send prayers and well wishing in my direction. Pray for the only person in the world with out a metabolism!

Hey Sweetie, Don't get discouraged! Weight loss can be a tricky thing. Also remember that if you are doing weight training, muscle weighs more than fat, so you may not see results right away. When I was trying to lose weight one thing that really helped me was... Trim Spa. Believe it or not it does help. It fills your stomach while it delivers metabolism boosting herbs. Give it a try see if it helps. Just don't give up! You can do it!

To me, it is good to see you sticking with the effort to be healthier, regardless of the weight you loose. Don't perget to be patient with yourself and be proud of your efforts. This time you are sticking to it, which you havn't always been so good at in the past. It will take time, but if you are healthier at the end of this, then you will have succeded. You of all people know what it is like to not have your health!

Stick to your guns, sweetie!

Here's a second vote for the "muscle weighs more than fat" explanation. Not to mention that a good percentage of day-to-day weight variation is just how much or how little water your body is retaining. Forget about the scale for a while and just keep doing what you're doing. You're not losing weight, you're getting in shape...

Besides, if it were easy, everybody would be thin, svelte, and toned. Today's world is designed to remind us to indulge ourselves every chance we get. To do otherwise is harder than ever.

Good luck!

Hope this doesn't undermine your efforts, but it's an interesting read:

I agree with you Mom, you're beautiful... but I also know how important your health is!! So I'm praying for you and hoping that I can find the same determination you have!!! I've gained about 10 pounds since you guys left (don't think it's related, but you never know!)and don't know if I'll have the head-space to lose it until after I graduate!!!
Love ya, stick to it!

Stick with it honey! Try the resistance machines at your gym if you have them. You will lose inches quicker than you lose the weight and you will notice an improvement in cardio as well as pulmonary function! Keep it up. The amount of time you spend in prayer and bible study should correlate with the weight loss efforts!
