Cake

I seem to have misplaced my sense of humor along with my brain and my ability to stop my self from eating a cake all on my own. I want to crawl under a rock and stay there. I don't want to talk to the insurance company for the fifth time today and no I don't want to think about what will happen next month if a job is not procured. I just want to sit here in my hole and cry!

I feel lonely and depressed, over worked and stressed. I have two kids and one brain you do the math. Morgan

Please someone put me out of my misery. 30 min after writing this email I broke my only pair of glasses no insurance and no money so now what? I don't think I am going to be blogging for awhile.

funny they smell...

So how have you been? Me, well I've become the human catch basin. What does that mean you may ask yourself... Lily has been sick. She sounds quite a bit like an old dog chocking on a Mr. Coffee. Once the dear girl has hacked up a lung and has nicely taken her meds she proceeds by throwing up the contents of her stomach, camouflaging me in green and orange. That's okay I tell her lovingly as I turn her to face me so she can cover me in regurgitated peas (funny they smell the same coming up as they did going down). She obliges me and snuggles in after the eruption. I strip both of us down to our skives and lovingly bath her in warm water as I kneel shivering over the edge of the tub. I finish this off by smothering her body in Vic's vapor rub and dressing her for the 4th time. I however, have procured a item from what I like to believe is the "clean pile". Dressing myself in a shirt professing the greatness that is Guinness. I spend the rest of the day repeating the above with the exception that now, during my spare time I run around attempting to locate the odd smell coming from everywhere and nowhere. Ps, its me!

Randy Pausch

Charles Gibson's "Person of the Week."

Jen and Randy at our house
Randy, Liam and Don

Don and Randy ETC graduation 05'
This week, 46 year old Randy Pausch said goodbye to his students at Carnegie Mellon University with one last lecture called "How to Live Your Childhood Dreams," on his life's journey and the lessons he's learned. Randy is not just another story on Good Morning America or even on the local news here in Pittsburgh. He is a man I worked for, a Professor of Liam's and a friend of the family. Randy is dying of Pancreatic cancer and in his words only has "3 to 6 months of quality life". We met Randy about 5 years ago when Liam and I went to a Building Virtual Worlds show. Liam was hooked and applied to get his masters under Randy at the Entertainment and Technology Center or ETC. Randy even came to our home for Liam's graduation party and earlier that year we saw the flying Flying Karamazov Brothers with he and his wife Jaye. Liam got to know Randy as a professional over the course of two years as a graduate student and then as faculty member. Randy has three small children all under the age of 6. Dillon his oldest and Rose are the same age and his youngest is only 9 months older then Lily. I believe Randy is a good man for a few simple reasons. He gave my husband a future doing something he loves, teaching and he was a kind boss, but the thing I admire most about Randy is that you always know where you stand with him. He maybe blunt and harsh at times but you knew he was honest. He will be greatly missed at Carnegie Mellon. I wish Jaye and the children the best that life has to offer. Please click on the above underlined link and watch his inspiring lecture. It will be worth your time!

From Sharon ...

Sharon Emery Ok!
Here are your questions:
1) How did you choose your daughters' names?
2) Do you miss Florida at all? Not the people, because I know you miss them, but Florida itself?
3) What was your job when you traveled with the Faire?
4) How's the knitting coming along?
5) Who is your favorite famous person and why?
Thanks for playing! Post these on your blog and share the love!

1. ummm okay how did I choose the names of my daughters well.
Moya (Great) is the name of a ship on Farscape a show we were watching while I was pregnant with her. We called her Tenaious B. untill her birth. Anwyn (very beautiful) well she got her name because I wanted another Gaelic name and her name spoke to me.

2. Do I miss Florida? Not so much it made my hair curly and frizzy and well we can't have that!

3. I never traveled with the faire I was a cast member at the Greater Pittsburgh Rennaissance Festivel where I played the bakers wife.

4. Knitting I am still doing it does that count. I have made a gazillion scarves.

5. favorite famous person Albert Einstien he most likely had ADHD and Deslexia just like me.

Your Score: The Cougar

Here's your results! Your spirit animal has a Nobility ranking of 13 out of 18.

Your spirit animal is the cougar. It is a stealthy and deadly protector. With a cougar as a spirit animal, you have nothing to fear in this world. Your life is blessed and you are on the right path. You will still have hard times, but you will pull through them, always stronger for your travails. Congratulations, few are fotunate enough to have such a spirit animal!

***Wondering how this animal was chosen for you? These questions were carefully thought out to see how important you hold certain virtues such as: humanism, self-knowledge, rationalism, the love of freedom and other somewhat Hellenic ideals. Some of the questions were very subtle. Your score was then matched with an animal of corresponding nobility. However, you shouldn't think this was a right/wrong sort of test, but more of an idealistic values test. It's ok to not hold these values, you'll just get an animal spirit of lower stature if you do!***

a dream

Last night I dreamed that I was riding on a small horse. With much excitement I believed I was taking the lead. When I looked around with pride I realized that not only was I not in the lead, but that I was going the wrong direction.

~Casey

Humm, I wonder what that could mean?

Eli and Rose

You won't find better best friends then these two. Having been raised together until we moved to Australia, Eli and Rose are inseparable. They love each other like siblings. Having a cousin only a year apart in age is wonderful. Isn't love grand.
