Shocking!

We have a nudist colony living in our playroom. How could this be I have been so vigilant about keeping my house hold dressed. But alas I have failed. I am sorry if this offends you. There seems to be nothing I can do. I dress um she strips um. Or perhaps I just have small colony of lesbian barbies you decide.

Okay I am joining a good friend of mine who gave up fast food. Edson has nearly made his one month goal. I am going to take this challenge too. I hear by give up soda and fast food! I just watched super size me for the second time and it made me sick and so NO MORE FAST FOOD! I need to be held accountable so I will post on my progress every once and a while. Here it goes. Thank you Edson for this fantastic idea and lets hope I can do as well as you. I hope my super sized me down sizes after all this!

My independence
Today I gained my independence back. We purchased a blue 1994 Ford Falcon station wagon. I have already by myself driven to get gas and then to McDonald's for lunch. Rose is thrilled that I am driving again to her that means we get to go out together like we use to! I am excited and nervous I haven't had a "life" in six months. I am not sure what I will do now that I can do stuff. Now it means I have to be a person again. I will be driving Rose to and from school again like I did in the states. I will be able to do shopping on my own to get things I need with out waiting for Liam to get home. I hate change I think that is my biggest problem I'm afraid of what life will bring with each change. So here's to my new independence!

Don't Panic. No really

My doctor says that I have a malformed public-duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fibre and that I am therefore excused from saving universes.
--Life, The Universe and Everything
"If human beings don't keep exercising their lips, he thought, their mouths probably seize up. After a few months' consideration and observation he abandoned this theory in favor of a new one. If they don't keep exercising their lips, he thought, their brains start working."
Ford Prefect
"This must be a Thursday,' said Arthur to himself, sinking low over his beer. 'I never could get the hang of Thursdays."
"Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so."
The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.
This book helped form who I am as a person! Scary isn't it!

Night time questions...
For Rose night time equals religion and philosophy. She is going to be one of those teenagers who sits in a coffee shop until an godly hour discussing the down fall of our lives. I see her as being like one of my best friends Amy. I found her to be so cool in highschool. She smoked with my mom hung out with my then boyfriend and questioned everything society threw at her. she always had so many amazing ideas about how the world worked. I am sure if we were to drug up some of these "ideas" we would laugh at our own stupidity. Rose loves to sit out at night and discuss where God is when the stars go away and the people are asleep. I will go into this more at another time. She loves religion and spirituality. I began teaching her how to balance her chakras and surround her self with white light. So begins our lessons on God and religion and philosophy. I love these special times with her sitting and talking and listening to the wind blow. Rose and I believe that God whispers in the wind and if you are very quiet you can here him speak. I think Rose someday will wear all black and be absolutely brilliant and have a soft side for all things pink and frilly. She will be fun to watch grow up and I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!

Struck by lightning

I have found my hidden secret as to why I am not losing weight.
After 1 and half hours of training every other day it has come to my attention that my eating a falafel yiro with chips and a coke is not helping my weight loss at all. Gee and I wonder why after four months of training I am getting no where. So this is my proclamation. If I allow any fatting food to enter my mouth may I be stuck by lightning. So either I am going to lose this weight or I am going to be one crispy girl.

Winter

It feels darker than it is, the darkness is closing in. It has snuck in when my back was turned. Creeping in closing the light off and ending the day to soon! I'm cold and the warmth from the fire isn't effecting the chill I feel. Winter is all consuming . The frozen world is waiting for us to open up. Endless nights have stolen in. I will sit and wait for it to take me in, into darkness to awaken months from now.

Existential Blues

I have been madly in love with one writer and one movie for the past 10 years. I had a teacher my senior year who introduced me to existentialism and I have never looked back. Tom Stoppard became my idol! In my eyes he could do no wrong. To this day I have not found a script or play that I like more. I am very found of Arcadia again written Stoppard! Oh strange I just realized that the boy who took me to see Arcadia was the son of the teacher who introduced me to Rozencrants and Guildensteirn are Dead! Oh the weird coincidences of life! Oh Doctor Demento you silly cleaver man!
Existential Blues
The amenities of life have been chasing my soul
And my mind is transcendental, and I'm losing all control
And I'm sinking in the quagmire of illusions and Thoreau
I cry out "My name is T-Bone" as a hound dog digs a hole.
You ask so many questions, what answers should I choose?
Is it plain as heebie-jeebies or just existential blues?
Sailing, sailing, what is illusion, what is truth?
Sailing, sailing, over the existential blues.
God bless America, and Old Glory too.
May she always wave o'er us and the red, white and existential blues.
Bom-idda-bom (and more blue moon noises here)
The existential blues.
Hey you can do what you want but lay off my existential blues
My blue suede existential blues.
My Dream
I guess you could say I have been "searching" for my self for a number of years. Yes I did go missing. Take a look at the back of you milk carton I may be pictured there looking all confused. Well I think I have come up with an answer to my on going questions. With a lot of help from Edson and Suze and my mom and dad and I know what I want. I want to publish children's books featuring my photography. I was told all through College "girl you should write children's books". My father has always said this is something I should do. For awhile there I thought I wanted to strickly be a photographer but now I think I want to write board books for children with instead of illustrations I will use my photography. So what do you all think? I would be combining two great loves in my life writing and photography. I have several children's books already written and in a folder just waiting for a chance to live. I think using my photography to illustrate my points I may have a chance. I am going to start some hard core research and get my stuff together and see if I can't make my dream come true. So wish me luck, wish me advice, but mostly pray I get my mug off that carton of milk!

The photo shoot
I made it through my first photo shoot. I was up at 5:30am and I finished at 4:30pm. I didn't take any of the photos but I enjoyed myse
lf. I learned that jumping up and down and singing silly songs sometimes makes children laugh and sometimes it makes them cry. Mostly I was responsible for filling out paperwork and making children smile. My face is now wind burned and toasty red. The rain blew sideways and wind was unbearable but the good folks of Murray Bridge came out with their little ones to get there photos taken. Well that's all for tonight. I have to put Moya to bed and I think I will join her shortly. I can barely keep my eyes open and my feet are aching! Thanks Jenny for letting me come along today.

First Interview

Liam has had his first on air interview with Three Triple R radio station in Melbourne Australia. He was interview live at 6:30 this evening! His interview was about his brilliant idea to have Australians within the entertainment industry come and take his grueling BVW class for two weeks. This class will begin in May along with the incoming class of ETC'ers all the way from Pittsburgh P.A. We are very proud him! You can hear a taping of his interview early next week by clicking on the link provided and going to the Byte Into It show. This same radio station has a great interview with Joss Whedon that you can listen to. Liam is finally making a name for himself here in the land down under.

This keeps me up at night!

Does the author of your book influence how you feel about it? This is something that has haunted me since I began reading. I love research so I tend to always read up on the current writer I am reading. Take Horatio Alger Jr. for instance. Many of his works have been described as rags to riches stories, illustrating how down-and-out boys might be able to achieve the American dream of wealth and success through hard work, courage, determination, and concern for others. In 1860, Reverend Alger took a position as minister of the First Parish Unitarian Church of Brewster on Cape Cod, but left for New York City rather suddenly, ostensibly to pursue a career in writing. Church records uncovered after Alger's death indicate that he was quietly dismissed for having sexual relations with several teenage boys in his parish (as a result, the New York City chapter of the North American Man-Boy Love Association is named after him). He was a pedophilia and yet he wrote fantastic books for and about children in the 19 hundreds. So do we not read his books because of who he was? Do we love Little Women because we love Louisa May Alcott? Does the fact that Edgar Allen Poe was ever so slightly off make his books that much more interesting because he seemed so close to his subject. Should you take into account the author when choosing something to read? Is it fair to allow the abstract lives of the writer detract from the novel? So does who you are as a writer influence your readers?

Who needs sleep?

WHO NEEDS SLEEP?
Now I lay me down not to sleep
I just get tangled in the sheets
I swim in sweat three inches deep
I just lay back and claim defeat
Chapter read and lesson learned
I turned the lights off while she burned
So while she's three hundred degrees
I throw the sheets off and I freeze
Lids down, I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts is
that I won't sleep
I countdown, I look around
Who needs sleep?
well you're never gonna get it
Who needs sleep?
tell me what's that for
Who needs sleep?
be happy with what you're getting
There's a guy who's been awake
since the Second World War
My hands are locked up tight in fists
My mind is racing, filled with lists
of things to do and things I've done
Another sleepless night's begun
Lids down, I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts is
that I won't sleep
I countdown, I look around
Who needs sleep?
well you're never gonna get it
Who needs sleep?
tell me what's that for
Who needs sleep?
be happy with what you're getting
There's a guy who's been awake
since the Second World War
There's so much joy in life,
so many pleasures all around
But the pleasure of insomnia
is one I've never found
With all life has to offer,
there's so much to be enjoyed
But the pleasures of insomnia
are ones I can't avoid

Lyrics by BNL
I am an insomniac. I do not sleep. My family sings the above song all the time. Its a joke between Liam and I. I start singing it and Liam finishes it. I have tried it all. You name it I have tried it. Warm milk tried it. Sominax tried it. Tylenol PM yup that to. Doctors like to prescribe drugs for it but the second I get off them I back to being awake all night. Drugs work but then I am up off and on all night long. Sometimes I find myself being conscious of the fact that I am wide awake even though I thought I was asleep. So tonight when I lay me down to sleep I pray the lord my soul to keep if I die (AUGGHHHH) before I wake I pray the lord my soul to take. I think I have just figured out myself problems I am afraid God is going to take my soul while I sleep (oh the humanity).

The rain fell down!

My laundry has been sitting on the line for two days. Why would I leave the garments to sit on the line for so long? Because here in the desert rain comes when it wants to and well it came yesterday afternoon and hasn't left yet. So there it sits waiting patiently. Waiting for me to come and pluck it from its perch and reunited with its fellow linens. That is if it ever dries.
Rain
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.
